Sharing

There are several different ways to share music with Rhapsody. Each of these sharing methods is available in the "Share Music" dialog, which appears whenever you start the Sharing process.

Email		Create an email containing a link to a playlist, the current contents of the Mixer, or a selection of tracks from My Library.
Instant Messenger		Create a web link to music to send in your instant messaging (IM) program.
Playlist Central		Publish music to Playlist Central, an online Rhapsody community.
Blog/Website		Post a link to music on your blogA web log; an online diary or log kept on a website. or website.

You can share music from the following locations:

The Mixer

1. Select the Mixer tab in the Playlists/Mixer area to view the Mixer.
   
   
2. Add Rhapsody tracksTracks that have been streamed, downloaded, or purchased from Rhapsody. (streamed tracks, downloaded tracks, or purchased tracks) to the Mixer by doing one of the following:

• Drag and drop tracks from My Library.
• Drag and drop tracks from the Music Guide
• Drag one or more playlists from the Playlists area to the Mixer tab, then drop the playlist into the Mixer.
  
  

3. Click Share at the bottom of the Mixer window.

Note: Only Rhapsody tracksTracks that have been streamed, downloaded, or purchased from Rhapsody. are available to share and publish. If you have both Rhapsody and localMusic files saved on your computer's hard drive(s) are referred to as "local." tracks in the Mixer, only Rhapsody tracks will appear in the "Share Music" window.

A Playlist

• Click Share at the top of a playlist view of the Display area.
  
  

The Playlists area

1. Click the Playlists tab in the Playlists/Mixer area to display your playlists.
   
   
2. Right-click the name of a playlist.
   
   
3. Select Share from the right-clickClick the right mouse button while using an appllication to display an alternate menu of commands or choices. menu to open the "Share Music" dialog.

Note: Only playlists made entirely from Rhapsody tracksTracks that have been streamed, downloaded, or purchased from Rhapsody. are available to share and publish. If there is one of more localMusic files saved on your computer's hard drive(s) are referred to as "local." track in a playlist, the Share button will be grayed out.

The Music Guide

• Click Share next to a track or album in the Music Guide.
  
  

Playlist Central

1. If Playlist Central isn't currently open, click the Playlist Central tab at the top of the Rhapsody Music Guide pages.
   
   
2. Browse Playlist Central to find a playlist you want to share.
   
   
3. Click the name of the playlist.
   
   
4. From the playlist detail view, click Share Playlist.

My Library

1. Click My Library in the Sources area to view its contents in the Display area.
   
   
2. Select a Rhapsody trackA track that has been streamed, downloaded, or purchased from Rhapsody. or group of tracks.
   
   
3. Right-clickClick the right mouse button while using an appllication to display an alternate menu of commands or choices. the track(s)
   
   
4. Select Share from the right-click to open the "Share Music" dialog.

The Library Organizer

1. If the Organizer is not open, click the bar between My Library and the Sources area to view it.
   
   
   
   
2. Use the drop-down list to view Artists, Albums, or Genres in the Organizer.
   
   
3. Right-click an artist, album, or genre.
   
   
4. Select Share from the right-click menu to open the "Share Music" window and share the contents of that category.

Note: Only Rhapsody tracksTracks that have been streamed, downloaded, or purchased from Rhapsody. are available to share and publish. If you select both Rhapsody and localMusic files saved on your computer's hard drive(s) are referred to as "local." tracks to share in My Library, only the Rhapsody tracks will appear in the "Share Music" window. If you select an artist or genre to share from the Organizer, only Rhapsody tracks in that category will appear in the window.

1. Click a Share button, or select Share from a right-click menu.
   
   
2. The "Share Music" window open. Click Email.
   
   
3. The "Email Your Music" window opens. Type the email address(es) of the people you want to send the playlist to.  If you type in more than one email address, separate them with commas.
   
   
4. Type your name.
   
   
5. Type your email address.
   
   
6. Type a subject for your email.
   
   
7. Type a message to your friend(s) if you wish.
   
   
8. Click Send Now.
   
   
9. The "Email Sent" dialog appears. Click Close Window.

1. Click a Share button, or select Share from a right-click menu.
   
   
2. The "Share Music" window opens. Click Website or Blog.
   
   
3. Select whether you want to create a RhapLink for one three specific blogging services (Blogger, Typepad, or Movable Type), or for a website or other blogging service.
   
   
4. Click Next.
   
   
5. If you selected Website, click Copy Rhaplink.
   
   
6. Paste the RhapLink into your website or other blogging service by pressing [CTRL] + [V] on your keyboard.

or:

6. If you selected Blogger, Typepad, or Movable Type, copy the RhapLink by selecting it and pressing [CTRL] + [C] on your keyboard.
   
   
7. Click Post to Blog.
   
   
8. Sign in to your blogging service accout.
   
   
9. Paste the RhapLink into your blog by pressing [CTRL] + [V] on your keyboard.

1. Click a Share button, or select Share from a right-click menu.
   
   
2. The "Share Music" window opens. Click Instant Messenger.
   
   
3. Click Copy RhapLink.
   
   
4. Paste your RhapLink into your instant messaging window by pressing [CTRL] + [V] on your keyboard.

You can publish an actual playlist to Playlist Central. You can also publish the contents of the Mixer, or even tracks, albums, genres or artists from My Library.

To publish a playlist you've already created:

1. Click a Share button, or select Share from a right-click menu.
   
   
2. The "Share Music" window opens. Click Playlist Central.
   
   
3. If you have never published a playlist before, a "Create Your Alias" dialog will open. Type in the name you wish to use.
   
   
4. Click Create Alias.
   
   
5. The "Publish your Playlist" window opens. Type a name for your playlist.
   
   
6. Select a category for your playlist.
   
   
7. Type a description for your playlist if you want to, and enter individual track comments.
   
   
8. Click Publish.

• All Rhapsody tracksTracks that have been streamed, downloaded, or purchased from Rhapsody. and tracks purchased through the Real Music Store (after importing them into Rhapsody) can be shared.
  
  
• Rhapsody playlists (playlists made entirely from Rhapsody tracks) can be shared.
  
  
• The first time you publish a playlist to Playlist Central, choose your alias carefully, as that is the name you will publish under. You are allowed one alias per Rhapsody account and you cannot change your alias once you have created it.
  
  
• View all your published playlists in the My Playlists listing on My Rhapsody.
  
  
• Once you have posted a playlist to Playlist Central, you cannot remove it.
