Help Rhapsody

How do I set up my UPnP device to work with Rhapsody?

Step 1

Follow the device manufacturer's initial setup instructions.

To see a current list of compatible devices, go to:

http://www.rhapsody.com/homeaudio.jsp?sect=main

Step 2

Connect the UPnP device to the same home network your Rhapsody computer is on. Make sure the device is turned on.

Step 3

Turn on your computer, connect to the internet, and open Rhapsody. Rhapsody and the device are set up to automatically detect each other. Once they do, look for the device in the "Compatible Devices" list.

If Rhapsody and the device do not detect each other, check your preferences:

  1. Select Tools > Preferences from the Rhapsody menus.
  2. At the left side of the Preferences window, click Rhapsody Server (UPnP).
  3. Check the box for "Enable Rhapsody server (UPnP) when I sign in to Rhapsody."
  4. If the button reads Stopped, click it so that it reads Started.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Rhapsody and the device are set up to automatically detect each other. Once they do, look for the device under "Compatible Devices."

If the device does not detect any available music, make sure you have music actually saved in My Library. The UPnP device detects only those songs, artists, and albums (including streamed music) that are saved in your Rhapsody Library.

Note: Selecting both Auto sign in... and Save password in the "Sign In" dialog allows your UPnP device to automatically connect with the Rhapsody Service when you play music from that device.
