Preferences: General

General preferences determine Rhapsody's basic behavior. Access them at Tools > Preferences: General in the Rhapsody menus.

What do General preferences do?

Use these preferences to customize your Rhapsody experience.

General Preferences

Rhapsody Options:

Select options related to how Rhapsody functions.

Disable 'Start Navigation' sound..:

(Default: On) This turns off the sound cue produced when you select links in the Rhapsody Music Guide pages and in Internet Explorer.

Notify me of all Rhapsody upgrades:

(Default: On) When you sign in, Rhapsody normally checks for updates. Select this option to be informed at startup when updates are available.

Clicking the Play button...:

(Default: Plays track immediately) Allows you to choose what Rhapsody will do when you click in the Music Guide.
 

Choose Adds track to the Mixer and plays track immediately to play songs as soon as you click in the Music Guide.

Choose Adds track to the Mixer without starting playback to just add the track to the Now Playing queue without starting playback.

File Locations:

Use the Browse button to select where you will store your Rhapsody downloads and purchased tracks. (Default: My Music)

 

Mini Player Options:

Choose whether you wish to use the mini player, and where to place it on your computer screen if you opt to use it.

Use the mini player:

(Default: Off) When selected, the mini player is active and will appear over any active window(s) when you mouse over the selected corner of your computer screen: Top left (Default) or Top right.
