Preferences: CD Importing & Playback

These options determine Rhapsody's actions when playing or importing (ripping) CD tracks. Access them from Tools > Preferences: CD Importing & Playback in the Rhapsody menus.

What do CD Importing & Playback preferences do?

Use these preferences to customize the experience of playing or importing CDs.

CD Importing & Playback Preferences

When a CD is inserted:

Select what you want Rhapsody to do when it detects an audio CD in one of your CD/DVD drives:

Do nothing

Rhapsody continues as before.

Show tracks in CD view

(Default) Opens the CD view in the Display area.

Get CD title and track info online

When a CD is inserted, Rhapsody will automatically contact its online database to determine the CD title and track information (if available). If multiple matches are found, you will have an opportunity to choose.

When importing CDs to My Library:

Select which options you want to use when Rhapsody imports CD tracks from a CD:

Format (codec):

(Default: MP3) Select a media format from the drop-down list. Imported audio tracks are saved in this file format.

Quality (bit rate):

(Default: 192 Kbps) Select the audio quality (bitrate) from the drop-down list. Imported tracks will be saved at the selected bitrate. The higher the bitrate, the better the quality. (See Audio Formats and Quality for details.)

 

Use error correction

(Default: Off) When selected, corrects minor errors encountered during the importing process.  (Recommended)

Eject CD...

(Default: Off) When selected, ejects the CD from your CD-ROM drive at the end of the importing process.

Automatically start CD playback...

(Default: On) When selected, Rhapsody automatically begins playing a CD when you start the import process.
