Menu: File

Use the File menu to create new playlists, play music files from your hard drives, find music files on your computer and add them to My Library, change your user account, sign in or sign out from Rhapsody, and close your Rhapsody program.

What can I do in the Rhapsody File menu?

What Does it Do?

New Playlist

Select to create a new, empty playlist. Your new playlist will automatically be added to the Playlists area , with the name "New Playlist." Add tracks to your playlist and rename it at any time.

Keyboard shortcut: [CTRL] + [N]

New AutoPlaylist...

Opens the AutoPlaylist wizard. Use to create a playlist from the contents of My Library, based on rules you select.

Keyboard shortcut: [CTRL] + [L]

Play Media from Disk...

Use to open and play a Rhapsody-compatible file. Select Play Media from Disk... to browse for files. Find the file you wish to open, and double-click it to play it using Rhapsody.

Keyboard shortcut: [CTRL] + [O]

Add Media to My Library...

Opens the "Add Media to My Library" dialog. Search for music, photos, and videos in default folder on your hard drives, or change folders to be searched.

If you have an iTunes library on your computer, you will have the opportunity to import it. Select Match your iTunes local... to match purchased iTunes tracks with streaming tracks from the Music Guide. Click Yes to start iTunes import process, click No to skip it.
 

Select any of the following options in the "Add Media to My Library" dialog to modify the import scan:

Scan for music in...

Select to search the default folder (usually My Music) for local music files to add to My Library.
 

Click Browse to select another folder for Rhapsody to search.

Scan for videos in...

Select to search the default folder (usually My Videos) for videos to add to My Library.

 

Click Browse to select another folder for Rhapsody to search.

Scan for photos in...

Select to search the default folder (usually My Pictures) for photos to add to My Library.

Click Browse to select another folder for Rhapsody to search.

Include all subfolders

Select to search all subfolders in the folders you have selected.



Launch Getting Started...

Opens the Getting Started window that you see the first time you use Rhapsody.

 

Sign In / Sign Out

Signs you in or out of your account on the Rhapsody Service, but leaves Rhapsody Software open to play CDs, your downloaded and purchased Rhapsody tracks, and your local music files.

If you have more than one Rhapsody user on your computer, you can sign out, then sign in as a different user.

Exit

Signs you out of your Rhapsody account and closes Rhapsody and all associated windows.
